All Band/Marching Band Students
From: Mike and Heidi Bohlken
Please read this important
information regarding fundraising at Cub Foods.
We normally schedule 5 days
of bagging right before Christmas so be sure
to watch for signup dates in early December.
Bagging groceries for tips
is only available to students, however, parents
are welcome to help out as chaperones.
Tips are
NOT split or averaged between workers. 90% of
the earnings go into your band student activity
account. 10% go to the Band Boosters.
The following
information is very important and it is expected
that all baggers and their parent(s) read it.
Rules and Regulations:
Treat this like a regular
job. You are expected to show up 10 minutes before
your shift starts
Please call us if you are
going to be late or won't be coming (good excuses
only please)
You will not be allowed to
leave your shift early unless it has been approved
ahead of time, because that wastes time that
somebody else could have been working
If it is your first bagging
experience, you will be given some instructions
to read and the chaperone will help you get started
At the end of your shift,
allow 10-15 minutes for you and the chaperone
to both count your tips and record the amount
Uniform:
Pants: Pants must be nice
and should have pockets so you have a place to
put your tips when you too busy to place them
in your envelope. Absolutely no shorts are allowed!!
Shoes: Make sure shoes are
comfortable - you will be on your feet the whole
time
Shirts: We provide a band
t-shirt for all workers so wear a shirt that
will fit underneath it
Hats: You will be asked to
take off any hat while you are working
If the chaperone feels that
you have not dressed appropriately, you will
be asked to go home and change
Sign Up Procedure:
You must be logged in to your account in order to signup
You will need to fill out
and submit the online Cub Signup Form (after reading
the rest of this)
Please take the time to go
over your school, work and family calendars so
that you know which shifts you cannot sign up
for
If you would like to be
scheduled for more than 1 shift, be sure to indicate
that on the form. That does not mean that there
will be extra shifts assigned to you
Your Cub Shift Assignment will
be available to view online after the schedule has been completed.
This is usually 5-7 days before the first bagging date
If you cannot work a shift
you are scheduled for, the schedule will not
be adjusted to accomodate you as scheduling 30-50
students is complicated
Chaperones:
We need 1 parent for each
bagging shift. It is much easier if parents approach
us with the offer to chaperone (usually the same
shift your child works) than us having to call
around to find people
It is not a difficult job,
and we will teach you what you need to know the
first time you chaperone. Please contact us by
email or phone if you are able to help out
WE WILL NOT SEND OUT ANY
SHIFT SCHEDULES UNTIL THERE IS A CHAPERONE SIGNED
UP FOR EVERY SHIFT
If you have questions, please email or
call us (437-5043)
Thank you,
Mike and Heidi
