The Hastings Senior High School Bands

Hastings Senior High School has an enrollment of approximately 1700 students in grades 9-12. Over 275 students participate in one or more of 3 bands and 3 co-curricular groups. The Varsity Band rehearses every other day for 45 minutes and is made up of 9th grade students who also participate in choir on the opposite days. The Concert Band, a non-auditioned group, meets every day for 45 minutes and consists of students in grades 9-12. The Wind Ensemble, by audition only, enrolls select 10-12th grade instrumentalists. Jazz 1, Jazz Too and Marching Band rehearse outside of the school day approximately twice a week. Other performance opportunities include solo and ensembles, annual music festivals and a biannual Spring Break music performance tour. The bands at Hastings Senior High School are under the direction of Michael Buck, Duane Oldham and Emily Chandler.

The Hastings Middle School Bands

Hastings Middle School has an enrollment of approximately 1200 students in grade 6-8. 214 students participate in our grade level bands and jazz bands. HMS has two 6th grade bands that perform as one for their concerts, one 7th grade band and one 8th grade band. All of our bands meet every other day for 45 minutes. These groups perform at 3 concerts throughout the year. HMS also has two Jazz Bands that perform at the annual Jazz Night in April. The bands at HMS are under the direction of Katherine Warren and Duane Oldham.
